Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc.) is seeking an Interim Assistant Nurse Manager, Utilization Management for a W2 Contract position based in San Diego, CA. 


Schedule: Full time, 5x8's, 8:30am to 5:00pm 

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks with high likelihood of extending 

Compensation:

This position offers a daily rate of $630 to $650 which equates to $3,150 to $3,250 per week (based on a 5-day workweek) 

Per Diems: Lodging: $199 per day and Meals & Incidentals: $86 per day 

Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $1,995 per week

Auto Stipend: $25 per day

Auto Stipend is paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $175 per week 

Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate + Per Diems + Stipend): Between $5,320 to $5,420 per week

Summary:


The Interim Assistant Nurse Manager – Utilization Management is an individual contributor role responsible for supporting the timely discharge and disposition of complex patients receiving care at outside facilities. This position serves as the primary local point of contact and partners closely with regional and facility-based teams to enhance coordination across Utilization Management, bed flow, and hospital operations.

This role plays a critical part in improving patient throughput, reducing outside utilization, and minimizing excess patient days through proactive case management, real-time collaboration, and effective escalation of high-risk cases.


Essential Functions:


Serve as the local liaison between Utilization Management, care coordination, and hospital operations teams

Facilitate timely discharge planning and patient disposition for complex cases in outside facilities

Proactively identify and address barriers to discharge, including clinical, operational, and logistical challenges

Coordinate with internal stakeholders (e.g., UM, bed management, care coordination) to ensure alignment and continuity of care

Monitor and manage high-risk and high-visibility cases, ensuring appropriate and timely escalation

Support efforts to reduce outside utilization and length of stay through effective case progression strategies

Maintain strong communication with external facilities to ensure real-time updates and coordination

Provide visibility into case status, risks, and opportunities for improved throughput

Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and best practices


Qualifications:


BSN or BA in a healthcare-related field highly preferred; relevant experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Master's degree preferred

Current California RN license required

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Clinical nursing experience relevant to Utilization Management required, including a minimum of 2 years of leadership experience


Skills & Competencies:


Strong understanding of appeal and grievance processes

Solid clinical background with the ability to apply clinical judgment in utilization review settings

Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., Medicare guidelines and compliance standards)

Strong Excel and data management skills

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency navigating multiple systems, software platforms, and documentation tools

Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Summary:

Responsible for clinical education and training programs to meet the learning and developmental needs of the clinical staff. Designs, implements, and evaluates strategies to maintain clinical competency of care providers. 


Essential Functions:


Designs, implements, and evaluates programs that meet learning and competency development needs of clinical staff.

Responds quickly to corporate changes in clinical practice and provides training required.

Ensures compliance and documentation of educational programs based on regulatory agency standards.

Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates effectiveness of orientation/training/cross-training programs that are based on an assessment of individual skills and evaluated by clinical competency outcome criteria.

Collaborates with leadership to improve quality and efficiency throughout the continuum of clinical care.

Conducts research into professional and community practice standards, technology, and clinical innovations for improved service within assigned care area.

Makes recommendations for cost/quality strategies; works within budget.

Communicates and markets educational programs to broad target audience using appropriate methods.

Consistently supports compliance by maintaining privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and license requirements (if applicable), and the organizations policies and procedures.


Qualifications:


Bachelors degree  preferred. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Current California RN license.

Previous recent experience in education in clinical service area required.

Adult learning knowledge.required.

BLS and ACLS.certifications required.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and group facilitator process skills.required.

Must possess a thorough knowledge of the California Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, Title 22, QA, BRN regulations..


Preferred Qualifications:


Masters degree.

CPR instructor.

Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, standard business hours (rotational call may be required)

Summary:

Performs specialized vascular and interventional radiologic procedures in a high-acuity clinical setting. Assists physicians during angiographic and interventional procedures while ensuring patient safety, radiation protection, and high-quality imaging standards. Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.


Essential Functions:

Performs vascular and interventional radiology procedures including angiography and complex image-guided interventions.

Assists physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures.

Prepares and positions patients for procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.

Operates fluoroscopy and radiologic equipment in accordance with safety standards.

Maintains sterile field and adheres to infection control protocols.

Monitors patient condition throughout procedures and responds appropriately to changes.

Ensures proper documentation of procedures and imaging.

Participates in on-call rotation as required.

Maintains equipment readiness and ensures quality control standards are met.


Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years of vascular/interventional radiology experience required.

Successful completion of department angiography interventional training program required.

Current CRT with Fluoroscopy Permit required.

ARRT (R) certification required.

Current BLS certification required.

Advanced certification preferred: ARRT - Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) and/or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV).

California Venipuncture Certificate preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity interventional environment.
